Calculator Use

Use this stopwatch time calculator to add and and subtract minutes, seconds and tenths of seconds in the form mm:ss.s or minutes:seconds.tenths. Totals will accumulate in hours when appropriate. The running total time is kept like an adding machine. Enter values according to time entry formats below. You should be able to use this online calculator with only your number keypad and the enter key; mouse use is optional. To perform subtraction you can enter a negative sign before the value such as -05:22.1.

Time Entry Formats

You can use a dash (-), period (.), colon (:) or blank space ( ) as the minute/second separator. For example, 5-06.2, 5.06.2, 5:06.2, and 5 06.2 are all interpreted as 5 minutes 6 seconds and 2 tenths or 5:06.2. Use a period between seconds and tenths of seconds.

Seconds are the default time unit: Entries of integers only or integer plus a decimal are interpreted as seconds and tenths of seconds.

A leading dash or negative sign indicates a negative value.

Entry limits allowed:

• minutes 0 to 59
• seconds 0 to 59
• tenths of seconds 0 to 9

You can use number keys and the enter button on your keyboard to input data. You can also enter negative numbers (e.g., -4.5.8) from your keypad so that you do not need to change the selection box to subtraction (-).
